On June 7th 2010 EB DFL Homie Jimmy Day will be leaving Boston, MA on a cross-country trek on his Bike, He is doing this to raise money for ALS research and for support of our good friend Justin Brace who has ALS. To donate please check out his ALS Association page to make a donation and check Jimmy's Progress: web.alsa.org/goto/RideforJustin. If you have any questions please contact Jimmy Day at 617-543-0251.

In my first year attending Fitchburg State College I met Justin Brace. He stood out as a friendly, calm and collected guy while at the same time a well-known, fearless BMXer. He never thought twice about throwing himself in the air with a 30 lb bike frame - something that still amazes me.Today, Justin is living with advanced ALS. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease damages neurons in the brain ultimately malnourishing muscles and leaving it's host unable to power motor muscles. Along with not being able to ride his bike, Justin is dependent on medical equipment to communicate and take care of fundamental needs such as transportation and breathing. Despite all of this he continues to be an extremely positive influence to his friends, family and the BMX community in New England. But the constant need of medical assistance that sustain him are difficult to pay for.
I, Jimmy Day, will ride my bike from Boston to LA in June of 2010 in honor of Justin's contribution to the cycling community and facilitate contributions to the well-being of others who live with this debilitating disease. With each mile of this 3,600 mile trip I hope to raise a dollar, $3,600 in total.
If you can find it in your heart to donate what you can, every penny will go towards helping Justin and others who live with ALS that rely on the ALS Association every day. I hope you can join us.
